NWS: Different Breed of Funnel Cloud Over Stark

(News/Talk 1480 WHBC) – There were funnel clouds over the sky in Stark County on Thursday.
No reports of touchdowns though.
The National Weather Service explains that unlike tornado-type funnel clouds form in super-cell thunderstorms, these funnels seen from Canton to Alliance were more like the water spouts that sometimes develop over Lake Erie.
They say that’s why no warnings were issued.
