(News/Talk 1480 WHBC) – The Excessive Heat Watch is now in effect for the entire area from Friday afternoon through Saturday evening, according to the National Weather Service.

AccuWeather says their RealFeel temperatures will be in the 100 to 105 range on Friday and Saturday afternoons.

No specific cooling centers in Stark County are open for the hot spell, but the county EMA does have agreements in place to open up such facilities in the event of a power outage or such.

The city of Akron will be opening four community centers, while Tuscarawas County has over a dozen cooling centers opening starting Thursday, including locations in Dover, New Philadelphia and Bolivar.
