ODOT Resumes Projects on Wales, Route 43

AKRON, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – Of the $100 million in active ODOT work projects in Stark County this construction season, some are jobs that started last year and continue this year.

The $7.2 million Route 241 Wales Road project in Massillon fits that description.

The contractor is back out doing some of the preliminary drainage and waterline work there before asphalt and concrete goes down on the road and sidewalks.

ODOT’s Justin Chesnic says most of that work will be done this Fall, but they’ll come back next year to top off the pavement.

And if you recall the pavement work being done on the Route 30 freeway between Route 43 and Trump Avenue SE, there’s also a section of Route 43 near 30 that needs new pavement and minor bridge repairs.

Altogether, that’s a $3.5 million project that should wrap up in June.
