OEPA Explains Dover Chemical Spill

DOVER, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – The Ohio EPA explains a recent fish kill in Sugar Creek in Dover.

They say there was a ten-minute accidental discharge of 40 gallons of a phenol-based material from Dover Chemical.

It happened last Monday.

Problems with a pipe fitting led to the spill, which became part of the company’s usual discharge into the creek.

The agency says there’s no long-lasting impact from the incident.
