WASHINGTON, DC (News/Talk 1480 WHBC) – It’s a statistic that says a lot about the health of Ohioans.

The rate of adult obesity in the Buckeye State in 2018 was 35%, 17th highest in the country.

Doctor Nadine Gracia who is CEO of Trust for America’s Health says the ability to get out of the obese category has a lot to do with where you live.

She points to your access to healthy foods, safe exercise and good jobs.

The numbers keep rising too.

West Virginia and Mississippi topped the list at 39.5% obesity.

Colorado and Hawaii had the lowest rates of obesity.
