One Dead, Another Injured Following Akron Robbery

AKRON (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – Two men were shot, one is dead following a robbery last night in Akron. Police say they received calls from a shooting victim just after 10:30 PM.

Upon arrival at the 600 block of South Rhodes Avenue, officers found a 27 year old male with non life threatening gunshot wounds. That man was the victim.

Officers say he was walking down the street when another man robbed him at gun point. The victim originally complied but then shot the robber. The suspect shot back hitting the victim in the arm. He was then taken to the hospital.

Other responding officers then found the suspected robber laying on the ground with gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital where he later died from his injuries.
