OSP, Police in Neighboring States Target Distracted Driving

COLUMBUS, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month.

So the Ohio State Highway Patrol has joined state police in our five neighboring states, stepping up enforcement of each state’s distracted driving laws.

The 192-hour-long enforcement initiative targets those texting while driving and those under 18 using a device while behind the wheel.

It goes through next Monday night at midnight.

From October through December, the patrol issued twice as many distracted driving citations than for the same period in 2022.
