(News/Talk 1480 WHBC) – The Canton Police Department is reminding people that several roads will be closed for the Monumental Fourth celebration and fireworks at the McKinley Presidential Library & Museum on Wednesday.

7th St NW will be closed from Elgin Ave NW to Monument Ave NW.

Washington Blvd will be closed from W. Tusc to 7th St NW.

Elgin Ave NW will be closed from W. Tusc to 7th St NW.

All roads will close at approximately 5 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3rd.

Monument Park will be closed all day.

McKinley Monument will be closed at 4 p.m.

There will be no general parking at the McKinley Monument.

Minimal handicap parking will be available at the Monument. To access the handicap lot come north on Hazlett from W. Tusc. You must have your handicap placard visible to gain entrance. This parking is first come first serve.

The police department also wants to remind those coming to the event to be courteous when parking in neighborhoods and is offering a few tips.

– When parking make sure you are not blocking any driveway access or fire hydrants.

– Before you exit your vehicles look around to make sure you are not parking in a “no parking zone.”

– Do not leave purses or anything of value in your vehicles that could be a target for thieves while you’re enjoying the fireworks.
