Popular NFL Writer passes away in Canton

Sad to hear that one of my favorite NFL writers, a man who did great work for Sports Illustrated – passed away here in Canton on Sunday morning.  Don Banks was 57 years old.  He was here to cover the 2019 Pro Football Hall of Fame game and Enshrinement ceremony on Saturday night.

According to a story by the Review-Journal in Las Vegas — he was hired last month to cover the NFL. He even wrote a story about the 2018 Cleveland Browns about how being on Hard Knocks affected the team.  It was published in the paper Sunday morning.

Banks worked for Sports Illustrated for 17 years.  He also wrote for the The Athletic and Patriots.com   Banks also spent 10 years covering the Minnesota Vikings and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
