Portman Wants Alternative to $300 Federal Unemployment Payment

WASHINGTON, DC (News talk 1480 WHBC) – The $300 unemployment bonus is set to continue until early September.

Ohio Republican Senator Rob Portman wishes the federal government would shut it down, or the state of Ohio would join several other states and refuse to take it.

Portman believes small businesses are hurting because they can’t find employees.

He suggests a $100 weekly bonus for six weeks when an unemployed person finds a job.
