(News/Talk 1480 WHBC) – President Trump travels first to Dayton then to El Paso Texas today, cities at the center of mass shootings that injured dozens and claimed 31 lives.

Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley says she will welcome President Trump when he visits the city today, but it’s not exactly with “open arms”.

The mayor says the president has the power to unite people, and she says he needs to do that.

Mayor Whaley describes the president’s “rhetoric” as “painful for many in our community.”

The White House says the president is just coming to honor the victims and their families.
