Report: CenCom Dispatch Center Closing in Two Months

NIMISHILLEN TWP., Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – One of Stark County’s two multi-agency dispatch centers is set to close.

The Repository says CenCom based in Nimishillen Township has told its 11 police, fire and EMS services that it will cease operations in 60 days.

The service is having financial issues.

CenCom has nine dispatchers who take 911 and other calls for Perry Township, Hartville, Louisville and other communities.

Nimishillen Township is working to transition calls to another center, perhaps Alliance City which also serves other jurisdictions.

They say they plan to make it a smooth transition.
