SCSO Drug Task Force Receives State Grant

CANTON, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – The Stark County Sheriff’s Office recently received a $7500 grant from the state.
It’s part of $2.4 million in RecoveryOhio Law Enforcement Fund money given to 32 different law enforcement agencies across the state to disrupt the drug trade and create substance use awareness.
The sheriff’s office leads the county’s Metro Narcotics Unit, with officers from a number of agencies on board.
Sheriff George Maier says it’s not easy work.
Sheriff Maier says the goal is to go after high-level drug traffickers and the big drug organizations.
