Sheriff Investigating Misappropriated Money from Deputies Union

CANTON, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – A Stark County sheriff’s deputy is on leave from the force after possibly being involved in the misappropriation of funds from the Stark County Deputies Association.
The deputy was an officer with the union local.
His name has not been released nor the amount of money misappropriated.
Sheriff George Maier in a statement says he takes the allegations with “utmost seriousness”.
He has asked BCI to conduct an independent investigation.
