Shooter Enters Plea in Akron Shootout That Kills Young Woman, Unborn Child

AKRON, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – Another guilty plea from one of the eight men in two separate cars involved in an Akron shootout that took the life of a young pregnant woman.

This time the plea came from the man prosecutors say fired the deadly shots back in April of 2022..

21-year-old Lenier Worthy of Akron pleaded to involuntary manslaughter charges.

That’s like some of the other defendants.

No one was charged with murder in what the prosecution called a “difficult case”.

21-year-old Teyaurra Harris was in a third car on Rockaway Street.

Worthy incorrectly believed gunshots were coming from that car, and fired at it.

He’ll be sentenced in November.
