Stark Coroner: Mobile Morgue Can Be Used by Surrounding Counties

CANTON, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – When the Stark Coroner’s Office orders and receives delivery of its mobile morgue sometime around year’s end, it will be available for other nearby counties to use.
They may be able to make use of the refrigerated trailer that have a mass casualty situation, for example.
It’s a “returning the favor” of sorts, after the county had to borrow refrigerated trailers from Columbiana and Tuscarawas Counties during the pandemic.
Coroner Doctor Ron Rusnak says they learned a lot about what should go into one, based on those experiences.
They start as an empty trailer, built to the specifications of the office…
The county has the $50,000 in hand to purchase the trailer, thanks to a Homeland Security grant.
