COLUMBUS, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – It’s a distinction for Stark County, but not one to brag about.

We lead the state in the number of car-deer crashes since 2015, with over 2700 of them in that time frame.

And the State Highway Patrol says we’re in the peak period for those crashes, in October, November and December.

They say the deer are especially active in the early morning and around sunset.
