Stark Parks Adding Kayak ‘Put-In’ in Canal Fulton

CANAL FULTON, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – Use of the Tuscarawas River by canoeists and kayakers has been increasing, and Stark Parks has an upcoming project that they should like.

Creation of a put-in area on the west side of the river in Canal Fulton, just off Market Street.

It’s a major drop off from an old parking area to the river there, so the surface down to the river will need to be dug out and the parking lot improved.

The cost will range from five- to thirty-thousand-dollars depending on the extent of parking improvements.

A granular material will be applied to the walkway down to the water.

The park district will apply for a Muskingum Water Conservancy District water trails grant.

And they own most of the parcel involved.
