State Health Chief Recommends COVID Shots, Test Kits

COLUMBUS, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – 8000 new COVID-19 cases in Ohio last week.

That’s up from earlier in the Summer.

Though it’s nowhere near the 500,000 cases in January of 2022, state Health Director Dr Bruce Vanderhoff says getting the new vaccine is still a good idea.

Some doctors and drug stores have it now, or it’s coming soon.

Doctor Vanderhoff says the current omicron variants do not often produce serious symptoms, but they transmit quite easily

The doctor says it’s also wise to have test kits available.

He says 17 people a week are still dying with COVID-like symptoms.

… He also recommends the latest vaccine.
