State’s Top Health Doc on Flu, RSV Shots

COLUMBUS, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – The respiratory disease season is nearly upon us.

Time to think about getting that flu and RSV shot.

The new flu shot is arriving, newly formulated for the anticipated strains of the virus this season.

The newly formulated 2024-2025 shot is a trivalent one.

Last season’s shot had been a quadrivalent one, but the CDC says that fourth strain is no longer active.

The RSV shot is only needed one time.

Pregnant women are advised to check with their doctors on ways to help prevent “baby” from getting RSV.

Some good news from the health department: COVID cases went down for the first time in many weeks.
