CANTON, Ohio (News/Talk 1480 WHBC) – As of 6:30 a.m. Monday, Ohio Edison and AEP crews were working to restore power to 16,000 customers in their service areas after severe storms on Sunday.

At that time, 6600 customers were out in Summit County and about 400 in Portage County.

AEP had restored most of the power in Tuscarawas County.

During the peak of storm activity Sunday night, there were over 35,000 customers in the dark.

Trees were blown down on houses in Summit County, according to reports provided to the National Weather Service.

They say a tree breached a house near Barberton.

And in Dalton, a tree was reportedly blown onto a parking garage, which partially collapsed.
