Strip Avenue Widening Project Awarded

JACKSON TWP., Ohio (News talk 1480 WHBC) – The Stark County Engineer’s Office now has a contractor in place for the $3.6 million Strip Avenue NW widening project.

It’s set for Strip between Mega Street and Dressler Road near the Hall of Fame bridge in Jackson Township.

Akron-based Lockhart Concrete was the winning bidder.

All the funding is already in place,.

Commissioner Richard Regula says several federal grants combined with monies from the state engineer’s association, the Ohio Public Works Commission and Jackson Township are enough to cover the project.

A second southbound lane will be added to Strip Avenue from Mega to Dressler.

It should be done by late Fall.
