Study: Commuter Traffic Impacts Vary, Even Across Ohio

SANTA BARBARA, California (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – More people are working from home, but a study by Coworking Cafe shows that commuter traffic is being affected in different ways, even here in Ohio.

Akron has seen a 10-percent reduction in traffic congestion from 2019 to 2023 according to the study.

Same goes generally for Cincinnati and Columbus.

But Cleveland saw an eight-percent increase in traffic congestion over the period, though “work from home” numbers went from four- to over nine-percent of the workforce.

The big takeaway is that many people still need to go into an office, so rush hour is becoming more like rush “day”.
