Summit County Authorities Arrest Purse Snatcher

AKRON (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – Members of the Summit County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau were able to located and arrested a Massillon man who they say is responsible for a series of purse snatchings over the past few weeks.

41 year old Jarod Lauderdale was arrested by Sheriff’s office personnel along with members of the US Marshall’s Fugitive Task Force on Tuesday.

Officers have connected him to three separate incidents where women the ages of 63, 81 and 82 had their purses stolen from them in grocery store parking lots.

One of the three victims was reported to have minor injuries from the incident. Lauderdale remains behind bars on numerous charges.
