Summit County Man Arrested in Walmart Parking lot

JACKSON TWP (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – A man sleeping behind the wheel of his vehicle in a Walmart parking lot is now in jail after assaulting officers who woke him up.

35 year old Adam Richardson of Summit County was reportedly unresponsive when Jackson Township officers entered his vehicle to check on him at 2:30 AM Monday morning.

After several verbal commands, Richardson woke up and began to drive away…. with an officer still in his car. Police say he also assaulted the officer in the car, twisting his fingers and hands.

Richardson did not get far though, he was arrested in the very same parking lot where he was found. Police also seized an undisclosed amount of cocaine from his vehicle.

He remains in jail, facing a multitude of charges.
