CANTON, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – An area teen charged in connection to the shooting death of a 14-year-old Canton girl has had his charges reduced after pleading the juvenile equivalent to guilty to a tampering with evidence charge.

14-year-old Michael Boykins had been charged with complicity to aggravated murder.

Boykins will be sentenced at a later date.

The other defendant in the case, 13-year-old Isiah Lynch, is charged with juvenile counts of aggravated murder and obstructing justice.

His trial was supposed to start this week.

It has been rescheduled for November 14.

14-year-old Sylvia McGee was shot and killed on Beiyl Court SW in Canton back in March.
