THANKSGIVING: AAA Redefines Weekend for Travel Purposes

DAYTON, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – AAA has expanded their definition of “Thanksgiving weekend” when it comes to your travel plans.

Ohio-based Public Affairs Manager Kara Hitchens says those who are still able to do some of their work remotely can choose to head to their destination Tuesday instead of Wednesday.

The same goes for coming back home Monday instead of Sunday.

That plays some role in the agency’s prediction of 3.2 million Ohio travelers this holiday, now defined as Tuesday through Monday.

Still, Hitchens says Wednesday between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. will still be the busiest travel time on the road.

Hitchens recommends driving on the holiday itself, if yours is a short trip.
