THANKSGIVING: Destination Trip OK, Lake-Effect Snow, Cold for Return Drive

CANTON, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – A storm system moving across the U.S. this week appears to be timed so that it doesn’t affect travel in our region on Wednesday, the biggest travel day of the weekend.

AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Bob Larson says any precipitation Wednesday will be later in the day, and will likely be in the form of rain.

Snow is expected to mix in during the night and early on Thanksgiving Day.

Bob says the roads will be OK.

Any snow could produce a slushy coating on grassy areas.

But then the trip home bears some watching, especially if you plan to drive Interstate 90 east of Cleveland.

Bob says the Lake Erie snow machine gets cranking as early as Friday, with snow expected in the snow belt through the rest of the weekend and into next week.

Also, Bob says the high temperature is lower and lower each day through the weekend, with highs on Sunday only in 20s…
