THANKSGIVING: Traffic Fatality Clock Ticking, OSP Staffed Up

COLUMBUS, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – For the State Highway Patrol, the Thanksgiving holiday weekend fatality count started at 12:01 Wednesday morning.

It ends at midnight Sunday night.

The patrol says troopers will be highly visible over the weekend, watching for impaired and distracted drivers and those not wearing a seat belt.

13 people were killed across the state in traffic crashes over the 2023 Thanksgiving weekend.

Two motorcyclists were killed, so watch for them.

For troopers, the turkey and trimmings may have to wait.
