Three Unions at Stark Sheriff’s Office Have New Contracts

CANTON, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – The Stark County Sheriff’s Office and commissioners have tidied up the office’s labor situation for the next three years or so.

County leaders gave their stamp of approval to three new labor contracts.

One is with the county’s 85 deputies and the other two with the FOP representing ranking officers like sergeants, lieutenants, and majors.

Starting pay for deputies with little or no experience moves up to $27.56 an hour.

All officers are receiving yearly pay increases.

They will receive pay increases of 5-percent this year, 4-and-a-half-percent next year, and 4-percent in 2025.

The contract with deputies is retroactive to the first of the year.
