CANTON TOWNSHIP (News Radio 1480 WHBC) – The Canton Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a three vehicle serious injury crash that occurred earlier today around 8 AM. The crash occurred on SR43 just south of Otto Street, closing the Northbound lane of SR 43 for multiple hours.

Four total people were involved in the accident, three drivers and one passenger. All were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Police say alcohol was not a factor in the crash.

Ted A. Rath, age, 53, of Canton, Ohio and his right front passenger, Megan E. Rath, age
26, of Canton, Ohio were traveling in a 2014 Audi Q7 southbound on SR43 less than 100 yards south
Otto Street.

Bryan R. Chaddock, age 51, of Dellroy, Ohio was operating a 2013 Jeep Wrangler at the same spot on the road but in the Northbound lane.

Hope-Lynn A. Nash, age 21, of Malvern, Ohio was operating a 2006 Ford Freestar
northbound on SR43, behind Chaddock’s vehicle.

Police say the preliminary investigation indicates Nash’s Ford Freestar rear-ended Chaddock’s Jeep
Wrangler, forcing the Jeep Wrangler left of center and into the lane of Rath’s Audi Q7, causing another collision.

The impact caused the Jeep Wrangler to roll over and come to final rest on the passenger
side. All occupants of the vehicles involved were wearing safety restraints.

Both occupants of the Audi Q7 was transported to Aultman Hospital by East Sparta FD. Occupants of the Jeep Wrangler and the Ford Freestar was transported to Mercy Medical Center by Canton
Township FD.
