Trucker Not Injured After Crashing Rig on Route 62 Bridge

CANTON, Ohio (News/Talk 1480 WHBC) – A semi-truck driver was not injured Tuesday morning when he lost control of his rig on the I-77 Northbound ramp to 62 East, hitting the bridge over Harrison Avenue and the West Branch of Nimishillen Creek.

Eastbound Route 62 was closed for most of the morning commute because of the crash, causing lots of traffic issues.

An unknown quantity of diesel fuel spilled.

A cleanup company was called in.

The trucking company is to be billed for the cleanup.

It took a number of hours to mop up all the fuel.
