‘Turnpike Dogs’ Improving After Deadly Crashes

WAUSEON, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – It’s some good news out of the deadly series of recent Ohio Turnpike crashes near an online toll plaza west of Toledo.

Two pet dogs survived the accidents.

One of them, “Henley”, needed a leg amputation, but is getting along well on three legs.

Veterinarian Dr Jill Dentel says “Davey” is doing better, having joined a foster family.

They’re being called the “turnpike dogs”.

Both animals are unable to go home as family members recover in the hospital from their injuries.

A preliminary NTSB report is due out soon.
