Two Sentenced in Murder of Akron Teen

AKRON (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – Two people connected to the murder of an 18 year old girl received prison sentences this afternoon after pledging guilty all charges they faced.
Danny Hamby, 40, of Akron and Toni Kenney, 32, of Warren were arrested last year for the murder of Samantha Guthrie. Reports say Hamby shot and killed the Akron teen on November 4, 2018, then had Kenney along with two others help him bury her body.
Hamby was sentenced to life in prison with parole eligibility in 24 years while Kenney received a 16 year prison sentence. Two other Akron men who assisted Hamby, William Alexander, 39 and Dylan Brown, 19, also await sentencing in connection to the murder.
