CANTON, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – Canton’s Veterans Day event takes place at Westbrook Veteran’s Memorial Park at 13th Street and Harrison Avenue NW starting at 11 a.m. on Monday.

SARTA is offering free rides to veterans as part of their Free Rides for Freedom Campaign… Veterans should show proof of service for rides on fixed and ProLine routes through the day.

There will be another Veteran’s Day on June 12th: the General Assembly has passed a bill designating that day as Women Veteran’s Day… There are 67,000 female veterans in Ohio.

County Recorder Rick Campbell will be at the Plain Township main fire station on Schneider Street NE today, issuing new and renewal Veteran Identification Cards.

There’s a Veteran’s Day breakfast at the Canton Garden Center in Stadium Park from 8:30 until 10:30 a.m.

Stark State College hosts a Salute to Veterans at 11 a.m.

And there’s free admission for veterans all day at the McKinley Presidential Library and Museum.
