AKRON, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – The Summit County grand jury considering charges against eight Akron police officers in the shooting death of 25-year-old Jayland Walker last June is back in the courthouse on Monday.
They are hearing more evidence in the case.
The hope had been that the process would wrap up last Thursday, but jurors were still in the hearing room on Friday.
There have been peaceful street protests ahead of the grand jury decision.
Preparations have been made downtown for a more violent reaction.
That includes moving all University of Akron downtown classes to virtual status.
Walker was shot over 40 times by the officers.
