(News/Talk 1480 WHBC) – Evacuations were still underway in Barberton Monday afternoon, after the National Weather Service says 3 to 5 inches of rain fell in southern Summit and northern Wayne County during the night.

Those evacuations were taking place on 14th Street.

There are a number of road closures around the area

First responders remind you NOT to drive around “road closed” signs.

Most people are killed in flash flooding when they drive through areas where water covers the road.

A Flash Flood Warning was in effect for northern Wayne County and southern Summit County Monday morning.

A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect for much of northern Ohio Including Stark, Summit, Portage and Wayne Counties through late Monday night.

Meantime, the Pittsburgh office of the National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for much of its coverage area until late Tuesday night.

That watch includes Carroll and Tuscarawas Counties.
