Weather Gurus: Winter is On Now, Look Back at Fall

GREEN, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – Though the Winter Solstice does not occur until December 21, meteorologists consider the Winter season to be December, January and February.

So it may be a good time to look back at Meteorological Fall, with only 4.67 inches of rainfall in September, October and November.

That’s five-and-a-quarter inches below normal.

The average temperature was 53 degrees, close to normal.

And we can now say with certainty that 2023 was the year when the temperature never reached 90 degrees at the CAK weather station.

That’s quite a feat, given the hot summer around much of the country and the average of about 11 days each year with highs at 90 or above.
