Where to Cool Off During the Heatwave
(News/Talk 1480 WHBC) – The city of Canton and the Salvation Army are opening a couple of cooling centers Friday and Saturday.
The Salvation Army on Market Avenue S is open from 9 to 6 each day.
And the Southeast Community Center on Sherrick Road SE is open from 8 until 8 Friday and 12 noon until 5 on Saturday.

The Refuge of Hope on Second Street NE in Canton joins the list of those organizations swinging the doors open for men, women and children needing a place to cool off: from 10:30 to 6 Friday and Saturday.

According to the city of canton, SARTA will provide transportation for passengers to commute between the Southeast Community Center, the Salvation Army and Cornerstone Transit on Cherry using SARTA Bus Routes 110 and 118 at no cost.
