WIC Farmers Market Program Means Cheaper Fresh Veggies

COLUMBUS, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – The state is investing in healthy food options for those on public assistance.

The Ohio Department of Health says the WIC Farmers Market Nutrition Program is providing WIC benefits recipients.

Coupons being provided will allow them to get fresh produce at a more affordable price.

The department says that last year, WIC paid $575,000 to farmers who participated in the program.
