CANTON (News talk 1480 WHBC) – If you haven’t heard, the popular heartburn drug Zantac has been recalled due to having traces of an element that causes cancer.

Major drugstore chains such as CVS and Walgreens are pulling the drug, along with generic versions of it, from the shelves. Dr. Stan Anderson joined Pam Cook on Canton’s Morning News today, explaining that the issue comes from the companies who make the drug trying to cut corners.

He says the over the counter Zantac is what should be avoided and that those with prescriptions should be okay.
