New research suggests that the goal of hitting 10,000 steps is a myth.  But there IS a number of steps to target . . . and it’s LESS.  Getting 6,000 to 8,000 steps a day reduces the risk of early death by 54%.

The latest thing white people can’t get enough of is Pickleball.  It’s kind of like mini-tennis, mixed with ping-pong.  It’s played on a smaller version of a tennis court, with a shorter net.  And you use paddles and a plastic ball.And now, STEPHEN COLBERT is developing a “comedic” primetime special called “Pickled”, featuring celebrity pickleball teams competing. t’ll air on CBS later this year.  Colbert says, quote, “I see ‘Pickled’ as a chance to bring lots of different people together for something playful and unpredictable.”

Sports Books Claim “Suspicious Bets” Surrounding Brady’s Return“significant” wagers, some in the five-figures, had come into various sports books betting on the Buccaneers to win the NFC and the Super Bowl…some by customers that weren’t registered or recognized by those who work for the sports books. The odds they received were as high as 50-1 and even 60-1, before things finally dropped to 4-1 after the announcement was made that Brady had un-retired. Insiders at a couple of sports books are suspiciously certain these gamblers had “inside” knowledge of Brady’s decision.

On FanDuel, one insightful gambler threw down one whole dollar on a nine-leg NCAA Conference Tournament parlay bet…and hit all of them…including picks like Montana State, CS Fullerton, and Norfolk State. That freak luck ended up allowing that person to cash out his $1 ticket for a $9,745,78 profit

Well if boxing or the WWE doesn’t work out, maybe Jake Paul can be a promoter. He wants to have Kanye and Pete Davidson to hash out their differences in the ring.

All of this over Kim Kardashian?

Pete has officially joined the crew of Jeff Bezos’ next Blue Origin space flight.

He and five other paying customers including Kardashian will board Blue Origin’s rocket on March 23 at 8:30 am.

The rocket will have a vertical launch from Bezos’s ranch in rural Texas.

So much for anti-tanking in MLB. On Monday, the Reds traded arguably their two best position players, Eugenio Suarez and Jesse Winker, to the Seattle Mariners, and pitcher Sonny Gray to the Minnesota Twins.

This and a few other moves make Ken Griffey Jr., who last played for the Cincinnati Reds in 2008. 

The 6th highest paid player on their current payroll. Jr. will earn $3.69 million from the Reds in 2022.

NFL teams have submitted two separate proposals to adjust overtime, the league announced Wednesday, following months of discussion about the advantage of winning the opening possession. The proposals have not yet been endorsed by the NFL’s powerful competition committee, but by rule they can be put to a vote later this month during the annual league meetings.The Colts and Eagles have proposed that both teams be allowed at least one possession in overtime. The Titans’ proposal calls for both teams to get at least one possession unless the team that opens overtime with the ball scores a touchdown and then converts a two-point attempt. Rule changes need approval from 24 of 32 teams to be enacted.The league’s existing overtime rule, last updated in 2017.

Joe Buck and Troy Aikman, who have teamed together for 20 NFL seasons in the broadcast booth, have signed multiyear agreements to join ESPN as the new voices for Monday Night Football, it was announced Wednesday.

Kyrie Irving dropped 60 on the Magic last night and the Nets blew out Orlando, 150 – 108.

The Cavs back in action tonight as we learned that Jarrett Allen will not undergo surgery for his broken middle finger and could return before the end of the regular season. Cavaliers take on Joel Embed and the 76ers tonight at “The Rock.” Tip off at 7.

1964 – Paul Hornung & Alex Karras reinstated in NFL after 1 year suspension. Hornung was inducted into the pro football hall of fame in 1986. Karras was inducted posthumously as part of the 2020 class in 2021.

2020 –  Major League Baseball suspends remainder of Spring Training and delays start of regular season in response to COVID-19 pandemic; return dependent on recommendations by Centers for Disease Control.
