COLUMBUS, Ohio (News/Talk 1480 WHBC) – 580 Ohio National Guard citizen-soldiers from the region are headed to the Middle East for deployment this weekend, in support of Operation Spartan Shield.

There’s a call-to-duty ceremony Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Civic Center on Market Avenue N

The governor and the state adjutant general will be there.

The men and women are from the guard’s 1st Battalion, 145th Armored Regiment out of Stow.

The public is welcome to attend the ceremony.
