(News/Talk 1480 WHBC) – As you work to master all that technology in that new car, maybe you’ve come to associate the term “hands free” with “safer”.

The AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety says that should not be the case.

A recent study of younger and older drivers shows as much as 27 seconds in distraction time after using a voice command.

That’s a mental distraction that can lead to more accidents, especially for older drivers.

The auto agency recommends NOT using in-vehicle technology while driving unless it’s an emergency.
