AEP: Holiday Season, Winter Bring Along Scam Complaints

COLUMBUS, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – They say it happens every year.

As winter settles in, so do those scammers calling you on the phone, trying to rip you off.

AEP Ohio says they’re seeing that rise in the number of scam complaints.

Brett Schmeid with the company says even if you are behind, they never demand immediate full payment.

Schmeid says you should call your local police and the utility company if you get such a call.
