Canton Firefighter Honored for Saving Child from House Fire

CANTON, Ohio (News/Talk 1480 WHBC) – A city firefighter was honored this week as Canton Firefighter of the Year at the annual Fire Prevention Breakfast.
Firefighter Jason Brown entered a burning house and located an unresponsive 5-year-old boy, handing him out a window to a paramedic, but not before allowing the child to use his breathing apparatus.
That fire in the 1900 block of Root Avenue NE back in May.
The child has since recovered.
