CANTON, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – A Canton man who did 13 years prison time for rape is hoping for a new trial, now that it’s been determined his DNA was not a match to the rape kit.
48-year-old Eric Brunner has been working with the Ohio Innocence Project.
With a new trial, his conviction could be vacated.
Brunner was arrested and convicted in a sexual assault and attempted rape inside a Canton home in January of 1996.
