(News/Talk 1480 WHBC) – The National Weather Service says there’s no evidence of tornadic activity during Tuesday evening’s severe thunderstorms.

They were just strong downburst winds that brought trees down onto power lines and roads, making for more cleanup activities.

A large tree was uprooted at the intersection of West Tusc and Raff Road, with numerous reports to the National Weather Service of trees coming down on cars and houses.

Numerous reports to the weather service from Stark, Carroll, Wayne and Tuscarawas Counties included trees coming down on cars and houses in Canton, Dover, Wooster and Marshallville.

Some of the strongest winds were reported in the Hills and Dales and Meyers Lake areas, with Edison and AEP crews still working to restore all the power by 6 p.m. Wednesday.
