(ONN) – Victims of a former Ohio State team doctor’s sexual assault attended a hearing on a new bill in the Ohio House.
At the hearing, former athletes like wrestler Daniel Ritchie spoke about what Doctor Richard Strauss did to them.
“What he took from me that day was my dignity, my peace of mind and a chance to strive in a sport that made me who I am.”
Ritchie says he quit wrestling after the incident, in which he says Strauss molested him during an exam.
The bill would change the statute of limitations and allow the victims to sue Ohio State for negligence.
At least six lawsuits including more than 130 plaintiffs have been filed in the case.
Strauss committed suicide in 2005.
