AKRON (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – A 73 year old Akron man faces multiple charges after Police needed the assistance of SWAT to remove him from his home.

Officers arrived at a house in the 800 block of Slosson Ave Sunday afternoon after receiving word about a domestic violence fight involving a hand gun. Upon arrival, officers say they heard one gunshot coming from in the house.

It came from Vernon Williams, who was in an argument with his 30 year old grandson. Williams was said to have been drinking all day prior to the argument.

After getting his grandson out of the home safely, SWAT negotiators were able to get Williams to surrender without incident. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
